Network of Light

July 12, 2024

Today's message of the day is called network of light.

I'd want to start by sharing by reading a poem I wrote called Network of Light.

dance of mystery
onion peeled back
skin after skin
the deeper you go
the more you realize
you've only scratched the surface
of knowledge and discovery

within this network of light
that has existed since the beginning-less
beginning of time
planets, stars, & constellations
regroup, reform
respond
to the galactic energy
fully informed by spirit
unbounded by limitations
by the pull and harness of Earth

oh, wonderful destiny
to have received from God
the privilege of participation
in this formless of unformed forms
that knows no bounds or limits
and whose call is to elevate and expand

is at once
a vision, an assembly,
a family of spirits and stars
is at once
a recognition
a seeing of previously unseen patterns
of esoteric design:

network of light.

Ok, poem over, let me share the origin story of my involvement with what I’m calling the Network of Light.

In 1999, I and two friends tried to operationalize this vision I had.

We did this by forming a three-person triad or node. We envisioned our node as a cell in the larger, global and – gasp – intergalactic network of light.

Our idea was to meet regularly, attune to, and support one another.

We thought that in time, each of us would start separate nodes, each with its own character.

Each node would form supportive relationships with each other and the network as a whole.

I spent the whole year pursuing this quixotic vision. A colleague of mine created a beautiful website. I gave a few talks and learned there were people in various parts of the world pursuing similar visions, including someone from the legendary Findhorn community.

Read more of the origin story here.

Eventually, I moved on, focusing more of my energy on practical things such as working and making money.

Some years later, I realized that I had been going about realizing this vision in a fundamentally wrong way.

There is such a thing as the Network of Life.

But it doesn't need me or anyone else to create it.

It exists and will always exist -  it's simply the invisible web that connects us all

So how can we better tune into or align with it? How can we serve both our own needs and the network as a whole?

I don't really know.

Perhaps we can start by simply meditating not just alone, but together.

And hearing and responding to the needs of not just our separate nodes, but our networks.

Maybe forming a variant of "nodes."

That remains the vision I'm responding to today.

And that’s the Message of the Day!
