Getting Started

1 – Form a Node

    • Clarify for yourself why you’re taking this step
    • Choose others with like or complementary spiritual values
    • Agree on logistics, i.e. means and frequency of contact, financial matters

    2 – Begin “Noding”

    • Do legacy or visioning work clarifying values and purpose of node
    • Agree on length of your commitment to each other
    • Agree on some form of common spiritual practice
    • Explore what support means to yourself and other node partners
    • Experiment with form of interaction, integrating spiritual practice, support, work towards an objective

    3 – Form Other Nodes

    • As your primary node becomes solidified, consider starting a second node
    • Make the focus of the second node different than the first
    • Consider creating a different form for this node, perhaps involving more or fewer people and more or less interaction intervals

    4 – Interact with Other Nodes

    • Initial meetings should be exploratory
    • Do legacy or visioning work and generate shared outcome
    • Decide on means of interaction

    Legacy Exercise

    1 – (Individually)

      • (Individually) What legacy would you like to leave behind for your children, grandchildren, the world?

    2 – (Group)

        • Identify a key characteristics of each individual legacy
        • Create a list that identifies the collaborative characteristics of a joint or group legacy
        • Create a collaborative legacy statement

    3 – Group: GOALS and STRATEGIES

    Create at least three goals and strategies to realize your collaborative legacy aspirations. A goal is an objective that leads to achieving some portion of your legacy statement. A strategy is a method or technique for achieving your goal.

    4 – Individually: Conduct a Support Assessment

    Identify your three most significant collaborative accomplishments during the past five years. What specific characteristics have helped your group achieve results? How have you received support in these contexts? How have you give support? What has worked and what has not?
    What conclusions can you reach about how you function in a group, how you give and receive support, and the types of support you need? In the context of your collaborative legacy aspirations, what type of support will you need

    5 – Group: Support Contracting.

    Group: Support Contracting. Do high level contracting regarding supporting each other. Explore and commit to specific structures for support.

    6- Group: Logistics.

    Group: Logistics. Decide on mechanics of how long you will commit to the relationship, what form and how you will interact, i.e. phone conferences, meetings etc. Be creative, feel free to try structures until the right one settles
